These kilometers will lead you on a journey from shorter to longer distances, spanning from 12 kilometers to a substantial long run, covering the best routes in Mexico City. Whether you're a tourist eager to experience the city from a new angle or an athlete seeking ways to maintain your training routine while on vacation, we present you with part 2 of our top route suggestions to assist you in achieving your goals
Part II : Routes
KOUMORI - Chapultepec II Journey [12KM]
The Torre Virreyes building, known as "el dorito" due to its abstract architectural style, is a gathering point for numerous running enthusiasts. If you choose this spot as your starting point, you'll have access to the cycle path that will take you to the second section of Chapultepec. Most runners use this route as part of their warm-up before various training sessions.
Upon entering the second section of Chapultepec, you'll find different circuits that vary in distance, ranging from 4k to 13k. The kilometers within the second section of Chapultepec are highly iconic due to the presence of Mexico's pre-Hispanic essence. You'll be able to pass by the Xochipilli Fountain, the Dolores Cárcamo Museum, the iconic track known as "el sope," where Olympic athletes have trained, and the beautiful Chapultepec Lake.
In addition to the altitude at which Mexico City is located, the second section of Chapultepec also offers numerous inclines and descents, making your journey even more challenging. Many surprises await you; put on your sneakers and discover them.

KOUMORI - Ciudad Universitaria [15KM]
Running in Ciudad Universitaria (CU) is a unique experience that combines architectural beauty with the serenity of nature. As you progress along the wide paths of this historic campus of the National Autonomous University of Mexico, you find yourself surrounded by majestic buildings, well-kept gardens, and a sense of tranquility.
As your strides take you deeper into CU, it's impossible not to marvel at iconic architecture, such as the Central Library with its mosaic structure by Juan O'Gorman. The fountains and sculptures that adorn the courtyards and squares add an artistic touch to your run.
Furthermore, the abundant vegetation and century-old trees provide shade and freshness during your journey. If you run early in the morning or at sunset, you can enjoy beautiful skies lighting up behind the buildings, creating a stunning view.

KOUMORI - Tres Plazas Emblemáticas: Bellas Artes, Zócalo y Tlatelolco [20KM]
This route is in its most part a run through Reforma Street, one on Mexico City’s main avenues, always very busy. This street host’s México’s talles buildings and it was made to resemble Champs Elysees in Paris, since Porfirio Diaz loved that avenue. This route is especially easy to run on Sunday’s since they close the street for cars so you don’t have to worry about them and only enjoy with thousands of more people doing outdoor activities in this street.
Within this route, there are some remarkable highlights to explore, including el Angel, an exquisite statue of a golden angel gracing the top of one of the roundabouts. And, of course, Bellas Artes, which you'll encounter after passing by many impressive skyscrapers and la alameda, another lovely park in the city. Once you're in front of Bellas Artes, you'll find yourself very near el Zócalo, the main downtown square of the city and the official residence of the President. But let's not forget that this journey also takes you through the culturally rich neighborhood of Tlatelolco, known for its unique charm and historical significance

KOUMORI - LONG RUN [32KM]
This exciting 32 km route will take you through parts of the other routes we recommend, including a Koumori Loop, the monument, Zócalo, and Paseo de la Reforma. It's worth noting that this route includes the first 10 km of the Mexico City Marathon, making it ideal for those seeking a long-distance run. Given its extended course, we recommend bringing your hydration and some energy gels to ensure you have enough energy during the journey.
During this unique running experience, you will pass by majestic buildings and iconic landmarks of Mexico City, such as the Palace of Fine Arts, the Central Alameda, the Angel of Independence, and many more. The route will provide you with an unforgettable view of the history, culture, and architecture of this exciting city.
